May is near, hurray, have no fear,

as finals approach, I find myself with more time and less stress. My 3 recitals and concert and 6 papers and portfolio were all last week, so now I’m chill. Maybe I shouldn’t be… but I am. 🙂 YOU ARE INVITED TO COME SEE ME DURING MY FINALS WEEK CAUSE I HAVE TUESDAY THROUGH THURDAY WITH NOTHING TO DO. AND YOU ARE I BELIEVE OUT OF SCHOOL. 🙂 probs not going to happen, but it was worth a try, right? 🙂

WHICH TOTALLY DOESN’T MEAN I’M IN YET, THERE ARE 3 FINALISTS AT ALL 16 SCHOOLS AND THEY TAKE 2 FINALISTS FROM EACH SCHOOL (USUALLY, OR THE EQUIVALENT NUMBER OF SCHOLARS….SO THEY DON’T HAVE TO TAKE ANYONE FROM SOUTHWESTERN BUT…), AND I HAVE AN INTERVIEW WITH THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF THE PROGRAM NEXT THURSDAY. OMG OMG OMG. SERIOUSLY. THE RIDICULOUS GIDDINESS IS COMPLETELY NECESSARY. CAUSE THIS WOULD BE THE GREATEST PROGRAM EVER AND IF I GET IN I CAN DIE HAPPY.

It’s Saturday!

And here I am online, half wasting time, half freaking out. But that’s okay. The norm. So to update you on the significant and trivial:

• Yesterday I did my “mostrar y compartir” for Spanish 2- basically “show and tell.” For an earlier presentation, two guys had brought in a Mr. Potato Head in a storm trooper uniform, so I brought in my Cupid Mr. Potato Head,”Señor Cabeza de Papa, el Cupido.” My speech was:

¡Hola compañeros! Hoy, para mostrar y compartir, tengo un amigo muy especial. Es el primo de Señor cabeza de papa,  ¡Señor Cabeza de Papa, el Cupido! Cupido también tiene una patata para su cuerpo,pero no se debe comerlo. Las papas son amigos, no son alimentos. Sin embargo, Cupido es más especial que otras papas, porque es la papa del amor. Cupido usa sus alas para volar y cuando él está en el cielo, dispara su flecha a la gente y dos…o más…personas se enamoran. Cupido le encanta los corazones, sus colores favoritos son el rosa y el rojo, y su fiesta favorita es el Día de San Valentín. Todos ustedes deben saber que mientras Cupido es aquí, va a aceptar sobornos para arreglar sus problemas románticos. Y eso es todo: ¡Adiós Cupido!

• After all my classes, I took my composite picture for Tri Delta, worked a little, picked up my super cool “Δ Δ Δ  ❤ St. Jude” shirt, and then got to hang out with Tri Delt family! Me and my Big, and Gran Big went shopping (browsing more like it) and got coffee, and then we picked up my Great Gran Big (who is the coolest person ever) and went to Chuy’s for dinner. I ate so so sooooooooo much queso. Which is why I ended up taking my actual meal back to the dorm for today’s breakfast. It was really fun though 🙂 and I think I might inherit living in an off campus house eventually, which would actually be cheaper than a dorm/apartment on campus. And the house is so cute. Like, picture perfect neighborhood. Think white picket fences/dollhouses/stepford wives.
• I had the worst dream ever last night. I had gotten to my Kemper interview, and they liked me, but then I was like…wait, I didn’t go to my practice interview yesterday!…and since the lady from career services was on the judges panel, I was freaking out, trying to figure out a way to tell her I was sorry and that usually I’m responsible. I almost died.
• I’m actually going to do my English paper now. That’s right- during the day. Weird.
